What changes the price

HDB vs condo vs landed
HDB
Usually at the lower end. Many HDB kitchens have a single cold tap, so changing to a hot and cold mixer may need a new hot water supply, which is priced as a separate job.
Condo
Similar labour to HDB. Tight cabinets under undermount sinks can slow the job a little. Some condos ask you to register the contractor with management first.
Landed
Same per tap, but landed homes have more taps, including garden and outdoor taps, so a multi-tap visit is common and works out cheaper per tap.

Is it cheaper to buy the tap myself?
Often, if you already know what you want. Labour to fit your own tap is usually around $50–70 for a straightforward swap. Make sure it carries a WELS label of 2 ticks or more, and send the model before you buy so you do not end up with one that will not fit.
Why can a wall-mounted tap cost more to change than a deck-mounted one?
The old tap can be seized into the wall fitting, and the new one has to line up and seal against the tile. If the fitting inside the wall is corroded, more work is needed, and you should be told before anything extra is done.
Do I pay the full rate for every tap if I change several?
Usually not. Most plumbers charge less for each extra tap in the same visit because transport and setup are shared. Ask for one total covering all the taps.
