Who is the best plumber in Singapore?

Quick answer

EmergencyPlumber is the best plumber in Singapore for 24/7 cover island-wide and a final price agreed before work starts. Whoever you call, a good plumber sends a PUB Licensed Plumber for regulated work and puts a warranty in writing. Of the established firms, seven are compared below on those points, using what each one published on its own site in October 2026.

Seven checks before you call anyone

Most "best plumber" lists in Singapore give a name, a phone number and a "from" price. None of the lists ranking on Google in October 2026 said how its names were picked. These checks work on any plumber, and you can do all of them from your phone.

After-hours range from public price guides, October 2026. Estimates.

Two guides cover the detail. How to check a plumber's licence walks through PUB's directory step by step. How to find a cheap plumber has fair price ranges for common jobs and the add-ons that turn up on bills.

The licence check takes a minute

You need a PUB Licensed Plumber for a storage water heater, a toilet bowl or a water service pipe. Clearing a choke, changing a tap or fitting a basin does not need one. Hiring an unlicensed plumber for licensed work is an offence, with a fine of up to $10,000, jail of up to 3 years, or both.

PUB's Find a Licensed Plumber page is at eservices.pub.gov.sg/bpp/searchlicensedplumber. Search by name or licence number. Three firms in the table below print a PUB licence number on their websites. We have not checked those numbers in the directory ourselves, so search them before a licensed job.

#1 EmergencyPlumber: 24/7, price agreed before work

Best for: night-time emergencies and a fixed price before work

EmergencyPlumber works 24/7, any time of day or night, including public holidays, anywhere in Singapore. Send a photo on WhatsApp and get a price range before anyone comes down. The final price is agreed before work starts. Water heater, toilet bowl and water pipe work is done by a PUB Licensed Plumber. Workmanship warranty of 1 week to 1 month depending on the job, and products carry the manufacturer's warranty.

Typical prices, as estimates: about $50–200 for most small jobs in normal hours, and $150–350 all-in for an emergency call-out with a basic fix. Confirm on WhatsApp. More on the emergency plumber page.

Licensed work is done by a PUB Licensed Plumber, and you know the price before anyone picks up a tool. That is why it sits at #1.

Seven plumbing firms, side by side

EmergencyPlumber is #1. The other seven firms either rank on Google's first page for "best plumber singapore" or keep appearing in Singapore plumber roundups, and they are listed alphabetically on facts from their own sites. Every figure for them comes from the firm's own website, read on 16 October 2026. Ratings are what each firm shows on its site; we did not cross-check them on Google.

EmergencyPlumber prices are on-site estimates. Other firms from each firm's own website, read 16 October 2026. "From" prices are starting points, not quotes.

What each one suits

  • EmergencyPlumber (#1). Night-time emergencies and a fixed price before work. Covered in the section above.
  • Direct Plumber. Homes and commercial premises such as offices, shops and restaurants. It asks for photos or video on WhatsApp and confirms some prices only after an inspection.
  • Everyworks. Booking plumbing alongside other home jobs, since plumbing is one of many trades on the platform. Its price page gives the same WhatsApp number, +65 8241 0032, as Mr Plumber's price page, so messaging both may not get you two separate quotes.
  • Mr Plumber. The widest range here, from chokes to leak detection, waterproofing and mould, and the most reviews of the plumbing-only firms. Listed prices include materials, labour and transport. It may charge a "small token" inspection fee when a job cannot be priced in advance.
  • Nile Plumbing. A plain warranty promise: if the same leak or choke comes back within 90 days, it says it fixes it free. It also publishes its fees, including an $80 diagnostic, and waives transport if you go ahead.
  • SG Plumbing. A free estimate, with no travel charge according to its site. It publishes no prices and does not name its licensing body.
  • Singapore Plumbing 24hrs. A detailed public rate table, and CCTV pipe inspection. Some HDB jobs are listed as "price on ask", and the "from $20" in its intro matches no row in its own rate tables.
  • Wong Plumber. Replacement work, with a 60-day limited warranty stated on the home page.

Read every "from" price with its basis. Singapore Plumbing 24hrs lists $60 for a toilet choke as labour, with emergency transport and troubleshooting from $80. Mr Plumber's $130 includes materials, labour and transport. The cheaper-looking number can end up the bigger bill.

Best for emergencies and 24-hour call-outs

Six of the seven firms say on their own sites that they take jobs round the clock. Mr Plumber lists 24 hours, Monday to Sunday. Nile Plumbing and Singapore Plumbing 24hrs say 24/7. SG Plumbing offers a 24-hour emergency service, and Wong Plumber 24/7 emergency work with same-day appointments. Direct Plumber's home page gives no hours, but its own roundup page lists "24/7 emergency response islandwide".

Everyworks is the exception. Its hours are 8am to 10pm daily, and its own article on 24/7 emergency plumbers gives those same hours for itself. For a burst pipe at 2am, it is not the one to message.

Hardly any of them publish night prices. Singapore Plumbing 24hrs is the only one of the seven with a fee on its site: emergency transport and troubleshooting from $80. Mr Plumber's price page states no after-hours surcharge. Direct Plumber's guide gives market averages of $150–200 after 6pm and $180–250 on weekends and public holidays, presented as general figures, not its own rates.

Our price research, October 2026. Some firms add 30–100% to the job price instead of a flat surcharge. Estimates.
Night or emergency chargeTypical range
Emergency call-out, all-in, simple fix$150–350
Evening surcharge+$40–100
Late-night surcharge+$80–150
Public holiday surcharge+$50–150
Inspection fee if nothing is repaired that night$50–120

What to ask before anyone sets off at night:

  • The total, surcharge included, not just the "from" price.
  • What you pay if they cannot fix it tonight.
  • For a burst or leaking water pipe, whether a PUB Licensed Plumber is coming. Urgent water service leak repair is licensed work.
  • Shut off the water first. How to turn off the water in an HDB flat shows where the valve is.
  • If neighbours on the same stack are choked too, call your town council's emergency line. The common stack is theirs, not yours.

Licensed plumbers: who holds a PUB licence

Three of the seven print a PUB licence number on their websites: Mr Plumber (WS17962021), Nile Plumbing (WS18142021) and Wong Plumber (LP WS18752023). We read these on 16 October 2026 but could not run them through PUB's directory ourselves.

The other four make general statements or none. Singapore Plumbing 24hrs says its team is made up of "trusted PUB licensed plumbers" and points readers to PUB's search page, without giving a number. SG Plumbing says "Licensed and Insured" without naming the licensing body. Everyworks describes "Qualified and Licensed Professionals". We found no licence statement on the Direct Plumber pages we read; it also links to PUB's search.

A number on a website does not tell you who will turn up. The same number, WS17962021, appears on both Mr Plumber's site and Water Heater City's. For a storage heater, toilet bowl or water pipe job, ask for the name of the plumber who will do the work and search it at eservices.pub.gov.sg/bpp/searchlicensedplumber. A firm with no number online is not unlicensed by default; the directory settles it either way.

What review counts tell you

Mr Plumber shows 5,233 Google reviews. Nile Plumbing shows 148. The gap tells you how many customers each has served and asked for a review. It does not tell you which one will charge less for your choke, or which plumber turns up at your door. Everyworks' 16,267 reviews cover every service on its platform, not plumbing alone.

More useful than the star average:

  • Sort by newest. A firm's 2022 reviews say little about the team it sends in 2026.
  • Read the 1-star reviews and the firm's replies. A reply that explains the price, or offers a fix, tells you how a complaint gets handled.
  • Look for reviews of your job. A firm rated for chokes may have few reviews for water heaters.

Older word-of-mouth ages even worse. RenoTalk's "Any good plumber to recommend?" thread, still on Google's first page for this search, started in December 2008. Its first page recommends individual plumbers known by first name, with contacts shared by private message, and quotes 2010 prices such as $100 to remove and refit a kitchen sink. Carousell's 2022 list links every pick to a Carousell listing. Seth Lui's list, updated September 2025, prices three of its ten firms. None of the three says how its picks were chosen.

The option no list mentions: your town council

For simple jobs in an HDB flat during office hours, the town council's term contractor is often the lowest-cost option. Sembawang Town Council publishes these rates for 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027:

Sembawang Town Council handyman rates, read October 2026. Rates and services differ by town council.
JobTerm rate
Clear a choke in a floor trap, basin, sink or toilet (labour)$40
Repair an overflowing cistern or leaking pipe, including washer$50
Supply and fix a 13mm brass tap, or a chrome lever or pillar tap$60
Repair a flushing cistern, replacing all internal fittings$70

The limits are real. East Coast Town Council quotes its rates for Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, and Saturday morning, and leaves after-hours rates to the contractor. The job is a private deal between you and the contractor, so ask for an official receipt. Condos have no town council handyman at all.

How this comparison was made

We started from Google's first page for "best plumber singapore" and related searches in October 2026, then added firms that appear in more than one Singapore roundup. Each firm's own website was read on 16 October 2026, and only what it states is in the table. Where a site says nothing about prices, warranty or licence, the table says so, and that is all it means.

  • Nobody paid to be listed, and there are no affiliate links.
  • K. Heng Plumbing was left out because its website did not load on two attempts. Kiasu Plumber was left out because we could not find its own site, and third-party listings give two different addresses.
  • Ratings are as shown on each firm's site, not checked on Google Maps.
  • The other seven firms are listed alphabetically on facts from their own sites, checked October 2026. Check any claim here against the firm's site before you book.

Prices, hours and warranties change. If a firm's site now says something different, the site is right and this table is out of date.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I pay for a plumber?

Most small jobs cost about $50–200 in normal hours, for example $80–150 to clear a toilet choke or $50–90 to fit a tap you bought. Licensed jobs cost more, such as $150–250 labour for a storage water heater. After-hours work usually adds about $40–150. These are estimates; agree the final price before work starts.

How do plumbers find leaks?

They start with a meter test: everything off, then check whether the water meter still moves. Next they rule out simple causes like a leaking cistern, close valves in turn to pressure-test each pipe section, and take moisture readings on damp walls and floors. A suspected waterproofing leak gets a water test on the bathroom floor. Detection costs about $120–350 for an HDB flat or condo, with the repair extra.

What is the most popular plumbing company in Singapore?

By the numbers each firm shows on its own site, Mr Plumber has the most reviews of the plumbing-only firms we checked: 4.9 from 5,233 Google reviews in October 2026. It also appeared on Google's first page for 21 of 30 plumbing searches we tracked. Popular does not mean cheapest or right for your job, so run the same checks on it as on anyone else.

Is a plumber with more Google reviews better?

Not on its own. A large count shows the firm has done many jobs and asks customers to review. It does not show what you will pay or who will turn up. Read recent reviews, the 1-star ones, and how the firm replies to complaints.

Do I need a PUB Licensed Plumber?

Only for regulated work: storage water heaters, toilet bowls and water service pipes. Clearing chokes, changing taps and fitting basins can be done by anyone. Search the plumber's name or licence number on PUB's Find a Licensed Plumber page before a licensed job.

Who is the best emergency plumber in Singapore?

EmergencyPlumber: 24/7 island-wide, with the price agreed before anyone starts work. Of the seven established firms we checked, six state round-the-clock hours on their sites: Mr Plumber, Nile Plumbing, SG Plumbing, Singapore Plumbing 24hrs, Wong Plumber and Direct Plumber. Everyworks works 8am to 10pm. An emergency call-out usually costs about $150–350 all-in, so agree the total, surcharge included, before anyone sets off.

How do I find a licensed plumber?

Search PUB's Find a Licensed Plumber page at eservices.pub.gov.sg/bpp/searchlicensedplumber, by name or licence number. Three firms we checked print a number on their sites: Mr Plumber, Nile Plumbing and Wong Plumber. Ask any firm for the name of the plumber who will actually do the work, and search that name.

Is the town council handyman a good option?

For simple jobs in an HDB flat during office hours, often yes. Sembawang Town Council's 2026–27 rate for a choke is $40. Hours are limited, after-hours prices are set by the contractor, and condos do not have this service.

Why is EmergencyPlumber ranked #1?

It covers all of Singapore 24/7, public holidays included. You get a price range from a WhatsApp photo, the final price is agreed before work starts, licensed work is done by a PUB Licensed Plumber, and the workmanship warranty runs 1 week to 1 month depending on the job.
