Ranges are based on public price lists and quotes in Singapore. They are a guide, not an offer.

What changes the price

  • Time of day and day of week. Late night, Sundays and public holidays sit at the top of the range.
  • Whether a temporary fix is enough tonight, with the permanent repair done later.
  • Parts needed. Hardware shops are mostly closed at night, so uncommon parts may mean a second visit.
  • How far the water has spread and whether the pipe is concealed in a wall.
  • Whether the quote is all-in or splits out transport, inspection and surcharge.

What is included

Usually included

  • Transport
  • Making the leak or overflow safe
  • A basic repair or temporary fix with standard parts
  • Testing before leaving

Usually extra

  • Water damage clean-up, drying and repairs to ceilings, cabinets or flooring
  • A permanent repair on a second visit, quoted separately
  • Common stack or common pipe problems, which the town council or MCST handles

HDB vs condo vs landed

HDB

Burst hoses and chokes in flats are quick to reach, so most of the extra cost is the after-hours surcharge. Common stack backflow is the town council's.

Condo

Similar to HDB, though guardhouse registration and parking can slow a night visit. Common pipe problems are the MCST's.

Landed

Long or underground pipe runs take longer to isolate and repair at night, which pushes jobs towards the top of the range.

Emergency plumber price: common questions

Why do emergency plumbing quotes vary so much?

Some firms quote one all-in price for the call-out and a basic fix. Others price the job at normal rates and add a flat surcharge or 30–100% on top. Ask for the total, including transport and surcharge, before anyone sets off.

Is it cheaper to wait until morning?

Usually, if you can stop the water. Once the main valve is shut, a leak that is not damaging anything can often wait for normal hours and normal rates. Sewage backing up, water near electrics or water leaking into another home usually cannot wait.

Do I pay if the plumber cannot fix it on the night?

A call-out or inspection fee, typically $50–120, may still apply, and it should be told to you before the visit. If a temporary fix is made, ask how much of the night's charge counts towards the permanent repair.
