What changes the price

  • A like-for-like swap in the same opening, or a new position.
  • Window-type, or ceiling-mounted with a duct. Ceiling fans need access above the ceiling.
  • Duct length and bends, and whether a new duct or outlet is needed.
  • Whether there is a usable power point, or a new one must be added by an LEW.
  • Fan model. Quiet, humidity-sensing and timer models cost more.

What is included

Usually included

  • Transport to your home
  • Removing the old fan
  • Fitting and sealing the new fan
  • Airflow and noise test

Usually extra

  • New wiring, power points or switches, which need an LEW
  • New duct runs or wall coring, quoted after seeing the route
  • Repairing a damaged ceiling around the old fan

HDB vs condo vs landed

HDB

Usually at the low end. Most HDB toilets have a window, so the fan sits in a window panel or vents through a short duct to the window.

Condo

A like-for-like ceiling fan swap costs about the same. It costs more if the false-ceiling hatch is small, the duct connection is non-standard, or the fan connects to a building ventilation shaft.

Landed

Can cost more where a duct must run a long way to an outside wall, or where high ceilings need taller ladders.

Bathroom exhaust fan installation price: common questions

Why is replacing a fan cheaper than installing a new one?

A like-for-like swap reuses the opening, duct and power supply. A new fan in a new position may need a hole, a duct and wiring, and each adds labour and parts.

Do I pay extra for a new power point?

Yes. If there is no power point or switch for the fan, a Licensed Electrical Worker adds one, and that is priced separately. Reusing an existing point keeps the cost down.

Does the quoted price include the fan?

The supply-and-install line does, for a standard fan. If you already bought one, you pay labour only. Send the model first so we can check it fits the opening.
